Once you’ve decided on size and media, send me an email or postal mail with several pictures (send copies if by postal mail, do not send your originals).
At least one should be a good face shot. I prefer no flash, but can work around “red eye” if that’s all you have.
Let me know what color background.
During our initial communication, I will send you a link to the color paints I use and you can pick out one or more for me to work with. Some people choose colors to go with a room décor, while others choose colors to compliment their pet. If you want a detailed/scenic background, that will be an additional fee and we can discuss before you place your order.
I’ll also need to know if you want collars/tags left in or removed.
Once all that had been determined and we are ready to proceed, I will require a 50% nonrefundable deposit before I begin painting. This can be submitted via PayPal or a check through postal mail. You do not need to have a PayPal account to use PayPal. They can still process a credit card the same way as any other credit card order process. Just click the link that states, “I do not have a PayPal account” during checkout. When you are ready, I will send you a PayPal invoice via email.

Please allow approximately 4 weeks for completion. Actual completion time may vary due to how many paintings are in process at the time.
Once the portrait is complete, I will send a digital copy for your approval. Once you have approved, I require the remaining 50% commission, plus shipping charges (which I will have communicated to you). If by check, then it will take an additional 10 days from the time I receive the payment for the check to clear. Once I have received the remaining payment, I will ship the painting via UPS Ground delivery (unless we have made a different arrangement during initial discussions). If you are located within the Kansas City area, I can arrange to meet you for delivery.
All portraits are for personal use and may not be used for financial gain. I retain full reproduction copyright of all my art.
Pictures should be as close as possible (for detail), preferably in natural light (verses flash or dimly lit interiors). If in doubt, email or mail a picture to me and I will let you know if I can work with it or not. Some photos are far away and blurred, thus making them unusable. By providing several pictures, I have an idea of actual fur color and markings.
Please do not send pictures that have been taken by a professional photographer unless you have their permission (and I would require proof of that).
